Friboi has concluded another cycle of certification for its beef processing plants and renewed the “Supply Chain Protocol” in 36 plants. Carried out by the Brazilian Certification Service (SBC), the audits were conducted between August and December 2019. The certification considers advances in animal welfare and good handling practices in the transportation, corral and internal facilities from the plants, as well as the classification and typification of carcasses.
The questionnaire applied in 2019 was more comprehensive in comparison to the previous year. In addition to two exclusive independent blocks of questions related to the cold area, such as deboning, and to residues, this year’s audit also considered issues related to the ranges Swift Black and 1953 Friboi.
Throughout 2019, more than 2,000 Team Members, including drivers and outsourced professionals received related training.
