São Paulo, December 26, 2018 – The JBS Beef Brazil unit in Naviraí (MS) was awarded the gold medal in the Best Cattle Purchasing 2018 category during the Nelore Fest in São Paulo (SP), part of the Nelore Quality Circuit. Considered the Oscar’s of cattle breeding, the event handed awards to the best Nelore breeders and selectors, as well as feedlots and meatpacking businesses.
The award is part of the Nelore Quality Circuit, created19 years ago by the Nelore Breeders Association (ACNB), providing a set of regulations describing a number of steps breeders and companies should comply with resulting in a points total based on the quality of carcasses from each slaughtered animal. This is the third time the Company has won the award.
JBS won the award for consistently achieving the most consistent volume, quality and homogeneity of slaughtered animals throughout the year. “We are very proud to receive this national award, proving everyone’s commitment at the Naviraí Sourcing plant during 2018 and encouraging us to do our very best in the year to come. We must thank the Nelore breeder family, which is a very important part of the livestock industry”, said Robson Procopio, unit manager at JBS Naviraí.
Eleven lots, nine cattle breeders and 1,040 head of cattle were involved in the Naviraí phase of the circuit.
